I’m Sophia Cohen Galvao (she/her), a current PhD student in the Department of History program at McMaster University. Originally from Brazil, I moved to Canada in 2019 to pursue a BA in History at the University of New Brunswick. I have experience as a Reporter, having worked for The Brunswickan between 2022 and 2024. As a freelance writer, I have published on other publications such as The Media Co-Op, the NB Media Co-Op, and The Silhouette.
I imagine Think the Piece as a sort of shelter to my thoughts. It houses them securely and prevents them from going astray. It is an avenue through which I can continue to exercise non-academic writing. Think the Piece is geared towards analysis of arts, culture, and history; but you might encounter other topics down the line. It depends on where life takes me.
